Pinterest is a social media platform where you can pin photos of anything you want. Writers use Pinterest to help promote their posts that have pictures. Many food bloggers gain more readers and subscribers this way. Being a blogger myself, I tend to use Pinterest on a daily basis. I pin photos from my posts, but I also help promote my friends content as well.
If you would like to follow me or one of my other boards. (I recently went through my boards and got rid of old ones, dead ones or those that didn’t seen to draw any interest. I also renamed a few boards.) You can do so by going to my profile.
In Pinterest you can follow the member or the members board, or both. I know everything I pin is not everyone’s cup of tea. Nor do I like to see certain things overflowing in my feed. The are two ways to handle this. One way is by following a member’s board, not them. Or if you have the time, you can follow the member and unfollow all the boards you do not wish to see in your feeds. I always check a member’s profile out before following them. If they have a large number of boards I am not interested in. I will follow the boards I like. If I like the majority of the boards, I will follow the member and unfollow the boards I don’t like.
Boards can be private, open to anyone to see, or set to where others can contribute as well. Where the one who runs the board can add you if you are friends, you can join by following or invite your through email. Some allow you to invite others as well.
I am going to share some boards I share on Pinterest. Not all of the boards are mine. Some I am a member of.
Food – Where you can share recipe or food related articles.
Promote Your Blogs – Come promote your blog post. While you are promoting your blog. Don’t forget to check out a few others and pin those to.
- Animals & Pets – This board shares posts about every animal known to man.
BlogBourne Friends – Where members of BlogBourne can pin their post or posts of another BlogBourne member.
Oh for those that don’t know, to find a website or blog connected to a photo that has pinned on Pinterest. All you have to do is click on the photo. As not all pinners add a website url for you to follow.
Pinterest is a great way to promote your blog and the blogs of others. The more you help and promote others. The more you will notice others helping to promote you.
Are you a member of Pinterest? If so, what are your favorite type of boards you like to follow? Do you have any boards on Pinterest you would like others to join?
