Duterte: An Awe-Inspiring Leader

A jubilant expression on his face could light a bulb that will brighten up our day on his first day in Malacañang Palace. Though we are off-limits in his inauguration we didn’t miss it because the state-owned PTV-4 television  station delivers the historic moment that is well received and covered the live telecast around the world. Our eyes seem tantalized, glued to it and we’ve seen the 16th President of the Philippines, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte taking his oath. Though some critics say that those who voted for him were not the majority vote, I couldn’t care less about it, the important matter is, he won with dignity, pride, and humbleness!

His staggering leadership, dedication to work, with proven result that his stewardship in Davao made him who he is today! His words were backed up with his actions, this is the kind of leader as reliable as his performance during his tenure as Mayor for almost 23 long years in Davao City!

Now the clock is ticking, his duty starts with boldness and fierce, especially with the proliferation of drugs and corruption in the country that has to be stopped. With his courage, devotion, compassion, and loyalty to this nation cannot be halted! This shows that he is serious as ever when he started his political career after the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, when the then President Cory Aquino appointed him as officer-in-charge vice mayor. This humbled him even more because he was never defeated as mayor and vice mayor respectively.

As we join him to his new endeavor with the highest position of the land, our journey with him is not a smooth sailing to a better world, it is with great responsibility that we as a citizen of this nation will also face and bear his burden that will eventually for the benefit of his constituents.

I’m glad that my Filipino friends are happy with the results of the election. I don’t know much about Duterte but I know he had immense popularity prior to the election. I do have some worries about things people are saying about extra-judicial executions, though. I hope it’s more rumour and misunderstanding than truth….

He was played and compared to Donald Trump during the election, but was compared to Abraham Lincoln now that he is working on serving the people. I just pray for good world leaders everywhere, who will bring peace and unity to the people, jobs and food for the families, and security for the weak.

I am looking forward to his SONA. So far, things are going okay I think although I am bothered by these killings.

I just read that smartmatic and comelec had a fourth server unknown to the public where the election results go first. Duterte-Marcos could still be a possibility.
