Getting Traffic From Pinterest

I have been using Pinterest for a long time. My pins have been repined many times. Can you believe once my post was repined 100 time. The article titled “Disadvantage of Writing Online,” which was published on Bubblews had 100 repins. That was the only time when my post had been pinned so many times.

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing bookmarking sites. Bookmarking site is a social networking platform where you share the links to your online contents. It is estimated that traffic from Pinterest will soon replace facebook or twitter based traffic.

If you know Pinterest , you might know what Pin or Repin means. If you have never used Pinterest, you may not know what pin or repin means. Pin means to share a photo or links (that contain image) on Pinterest, and repin means resharing the pinned link with the Pinterest members.

You can pin your published post and article whether there is pin button or not. The only difference is when there is pin button pinning is easy. You can pin your published work by hitting pin button, or copying the url and then choosing “pin from website option” while logged on your pinterest account.

When you have pin button you can pin with couple of clicks, whereas while manually pinning, you have to copy-paste url and then write an intro.

Remember, if your post does not contain a photo you cannot pin your post because Pinterest is Pin board like social bookmarking site. If you want to reap the benefits of Pinterest, use high quality photo on your posts.

Actually, it’s best if you add a VERTICAL image to each post for pinning, in addition to the horizontal featured image. Pinterest can’t always pick up the featured images because they are too small. And there is a strong bias in favour of vertical images on Pinterest now. Some group boards don’t allow pins that use horizontal images at all.

I like the horizontal images on Pinterest. It works well. I notice those pins tend to do better. At least the ones I have done have been re-pinned more than any others.

I’m still figuring out Pinterest. I have a lot of work to do there but once I have my Twitter up a bit, I’ll focus on my Pinterest account. I don’t know if my vertical pins are doing better than the earlier ones that were horizontal. I sure hope so, though!

Yes, and made for Pinterest images are vertical. Ideally, they have a 2:3 aspect ratio. The size most often cited for Pinterest is 736 x 1102 px.

The pins remain on Pinterest even if the content is deleted, however, when you click the pin you will get error message.

Have you noticed that now it’s 400 words per post? I just tried to submit a post of 260 words but got the error that it should be minimum 400 words.
