I love to draw, paint, write, create. I like to make things from … nothing.
I think I draw pretty good at times when I am in the mood to draw.
If my drawing doesn’t look the best in my eyes … I call it a doodle.
Why? Because … when I draw a doodle … I don’t have to worry about it being … perfect.
If someone sees imperfections in my artwork … they can remember it’s a doodle, that’s okay.
One can get by with anything when a drawing is called a doodle. The pressure of having to draw perfectly is taken away …this is how I feel.
I like to look at things as I draw. If I am not in the mood to draw … I can’t draw at all.
I used to draw for people, make greeting cards for sale … paint mailboxes for people who would pay me good money. Not only that … I used to do posters each month with different themes at the hospital I used to work at.
As a child … I used to draw, design, color, cut out my own paper dolls. I would make them for my friends.
I am my own worst critic, I am a perfectionist.
I noticed a long time ago that when I called my drawings … Doodles … it took the pressure off me. Why? Because I don’t have to be perfect.
