I’d Never Do This Again

After seeing the rise and fall of many blogging and revenue sharing sites, I had told myself that I would never again find myself joining another one. Yet, here I am again. It’s one of those things where you become curious and can’t seem to keep yourself away.

I’m starting the journey here at BlogBourne with a positive outlook, but at the same time I’m making sure to not get my hopes up too high. We’ve all seen the good and the bad, and it’s nice to hope for the good, but always a good idea to not expect too much.

I believe that there is a lot of promise in a site that is not rushing to start paying out right away. Too many sites have made the mistake of placing earnings too high in the beginning, falling behind, and never being able to dig themselves out of that hole. It’s caused a lot of downfalls, and I’d hope to not see that here.

Though the prospect of possibly never getting paid weighs on everyone’s mind (after all, no one joins these sites without the hope of payment, no matter what they may say), the promise of a chance makes it somewhat worth the risk, even if only to freshen up on your writing skills while you wait.

I think you are echoing the feelings of many writers here, Tiffany. We want to be positive and optimistic, but we’ve all been hurt too many times in recent years. I believe the site owner has plans to write a post about his thoughts on regaining the trust of writers who have been burned as individuals and as a community. It will be interesting to see how he will approach the question of trust.
