I was introduced to the World Wide Web in 1999. However, I did not begin using internet until 2003.
I knew about social networking sites but I was not a member until my school time friend went to Australia. He sent me a request on Hi5. Since internet was the cheapest medium, I joined the site. However, I discontinued using Hi5 because I did not have internet in my home, and it was frustrating to spend time in the internet cafe. This was during 2006.
A year later, another school friend, who was in the US, invited me to join Facebook. I created an account, spent few months trying to socialize, and then deactivated my account.
I tried my hands in online writing in 2010. As I began spending time on niche content sites, I decided to activate my facebook. I searched my friends who were already on facebook and was connected with them. I also became friends with strangers.
My writing gurus told me social media membership was very necessary to excel as an online writing. I created account on twitter. As time went on, I found other social networking sites such as Google Plus, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Pintrest and became members on these sites.
Social networking is very important for a modern day man and woman. These days I regularly use facebook, google plus, twitter, and Pintrest.
