Relax can mean several different things to several different people. I know a lady who knits to relax and she is so good at it that she doesn’t even need to watch her fingers. Me, if I tried that, well let’s just say that I would end up with a tangled mess of yarn and more frustration than required for anyone’s blood pressure to rise to crippling heights. So knitting is not going to do it for me.
I know others who would love to go shopping to unwind, that to me is like putting the spin on an already spinning out of control top. So leave me out of the shopping for fun, it’s just not going to happen for me.
Maybe you like Suduko* you know those annoying puzzles with nine squares where you have to fill in the numbers 1-9 only once in each box of 9 and there is only one answer to the puzzle! Chill out, Not me!
So how about Crosswords? Depending on where they are printed, they can be easy or really difficult. If English isn’t your first language, you can sometimes kiss this idea good bye. You might finish it with a thesaurus and dictionary close by or easier with a computer, laptop or cell phone. But this would not be relaxing in my world.
Relaxing for me means a patch of dirt, some seeds, a trowel and maybe some gloves on my hands. Digging and amending the ground until it’s just right to receieve the seeds I so carefully harvested from last years crop of plants and vegetables. Dig, dig, dig, add some compost, add some seeds, water and pat the ground back in place over those beauties. Now that is what I call relaxing. How about you?
There’s room in the comments to let me know what you think!
