In a village with about 200 households and about 1200 people (men, women and children included) living, death is scary news, even more when there is a suicide.
I live in a small village in Nepal. Yesterday, in the afternoon in the village, a boy spotted a man hanging on a branch of a tall tree in a small wood. The boy said he had gone to the wood to graze animals. He reported about the hanging man to the villagers, and the villagers reported to the police. Police came and took the corpse to the hospital. The postmortem repost said it was a suicide.
The exact reason for suicide is not known but the people who saw him two hours before he committed suicide say he was in normal condition. On that fateful day he had gone to the marketplace and bought two sacks of rice. He had some furious discussion with his wife. After the discussion he walked off. But the wife says the discussion was nothing sort of a reason to commit a suicide.
The man, who was 60 years old, was married twice. He has two grown up sons, both married with couple of children, and a daughter. He was living with his wife and the children of his son, a migrant laborer in Malaysia. The man was alcoholic. He and his family had grown poor because of his alcoholism.
