The Storms Put the Cable Out!

After all the storms that we have had over the last few week. I have been having trouble with my cable. Now, I pay way too much for cable to go through all the bull you have to go through. I was on the phone with them for six hours. The finally told me to take my box to their office and get a new box.

I left my house at 7 am to get to the cable place. I didn’t feel like having to wait all day just to get a new box. Well, it turns out that everyone in my town was having problems after all those storms. They gave me a totally different box than what I had before. When I said something, I was told this is the new boxes that they are using and the box they gave me was better than the old one, it had more features and the remote was a lot easier to use.


I ran a few other errands that I had to do before I went home. I finally got the box all set up and called to have them activate the box. Well, it did work. I couldn’t help but think of the man that was in back of me in line. He had been back and forth to the cable company seven times in two days. The last thing I need is to have to go back to the cable company. I have to walk there because I don’t drive. It’s about a forty-five-minute walk from my house. Not something I want to have to do again in this heat.

Well, the first time, it didn’t work, I unplugged the and made sure all of the wires were tight. Then, I had to wait to see what happened to see if my cable would work. But there was still a problem. I had to unplug everything and this tie I changed the wires hoping that that was the problem. There was a welcome message on the screen saying that my equipment was connecting it could take two hours that didn’t happen before so I decided to wait and see. It is a good thing I have a DVD player.

I got the same message something wasn’t quite right to unplug everything and try again. So, of course, that is what I did. So here we go again hopefully, this time, it will work. The big problem is there was no hookup manual with it all all. My cable goes through my DVD player and into my television. I am trying to stay calm and hope that it works out alright this time. Everything is tight, and the cords are difficult to get to plug in. But, I think this time it will work. I am crossing my fingers. I have now tried the wires in different ports. I have to wait to see what happens.

Well, it’s 3 pm, and I still don’t have my cable television back. I am going to try one more time and see. I am starting to think that I am going to have to go for a walk again tomorrow.

    Sorry so much for all that mess! Hope it works soon. Meanwhile, you can keep on sharing your cable problem with us, and let us know when it finally works. We don’t – yet- have cable here. Well, we are in fact waiting for the optical fiber installation and this will probably happen next september, cross my fingers!

      I just got back from taking the box back . I have not tried to hook this one up. I may do another post becasue some interesting things happened.

    I wish I had cable, but here in the woods we can only get dish. Dish goes out when the wind blows 🙁

    We don’t have cable. Our cable provider here is the worst and we got tired of messing with them and high bills. So Netflix and 123 movies for us I hope you get figured out soon.

    No similar problem here in my end. It’ good I have not availed of the cable which I have been planning to have one. I don’t think I could control myself for such mess.
