Tired and It’s Only Monday, August 1st

I am tired and exhausted. I am hoping to relax some tomorrow as it has been a long two days. It started yesterday. I picked a row of green beans. That gave me two pecks which broke down to about ten quarts. Then I headed back out to the garden to get the second row. Same amount and I canned down a total of twenty one quarts.  When those were done I stopped for the day and waited until this morning for cooler air. So after chores I got the last two rows picked, giving me four and a half more pecks. I got fourteen quarts canned after I took a shower and gave the puppies a bath. After the canning it was time to take the puppies for their shots. They did not like that. Back home I did seven more quarts and had enough beans left over for dinner also. So we now have a total of sixty three quarts to get s through the year and this is just my first picking of beans. The only thing I have to do tomorrow is pick my white half runner green beans to take to the auction and sell. Hope everyone has had a great and easier day than I have.

I’m hoping that we will get enough beans to can at least a few quarts, but our garden is small, so we only have one row of beans. I *could* plant another row of beans now, but I want to see how well these do. Our beans are growing between the tomatoes and eggplants.

I try not to buy anything that I can grow and save over the winter. Hope the beans do good for you
